APPLICATIONS OVERVIEW
The 309-Y is a heat resistant flexible copper conductor cable manufactured in accordance with standard BS EN 50525 Part 2-11 designed for internal wiring or supply cords to medium size electrical apparatus with a voltage rating of 300/500V. It is suitable for use where there is low risk of mechanical stresses in the application, such as on portable tools, washing machines, and other domestic appliances. This cable is not suitable for outdoor use or for direct laying on trays or in racks.

With its heat-resistant insulation and outersheath, the 309-Y PVC cable has a temperature rating when flexed of between 0oC and +90oC, making it particularly well suited to high temperature environments such as near storage heaters and cookers.
The 309-Y cable is available in a number of core sizes, with the most common cross-sectional conductor sizes being 0.75mm2, 1mm2, 1.5mm2 and 2.5mm2.
